WHAT SHALL I DO

Whee! More time at home! More time in this chair! This chair which is memorizing the exact crater that my sideways butt leaves in it. I'm thinking that it's time for a radical reorganization of my room. Major pieces of furniture moving, the whole deal. Rearranging your room is kind of fun, it's like an upgrade, or like getting a new room. Soon it will look like an office with a bed in it (on the floor, because I'm tossing this screwed up futon frame out).

Blech, I left my shake too close to the pan while I was making breakfast and now it tastes like chocolate bacon.

For the first time in my life, I have personalized business cards. This is a big deal! I can enter those contests that they have at Subway and Taco Del Mar! When I was at GST, I almost got biz cards, but I left before they determined my title. Anyway, now I've got little beige paper heralds to give folks. I hope renters will be impressed. Actually, getting a house is on hold. I don't have time to wait for a new place to get my net connection (1.1 Mb SDSL at first, possibly a T-1 later, since I'm so close to the hub here.)

Another reason to rearrange my room is that I'm looking to expand the Anthro setup I have. These monitors take up huge amounts of space. The boxes they get shipped in are huge, too. One takes up most of my closet, the other one is taking up most of the free floor space in my room. I don't want to throw them out because I'm planning on moving someday in the near future, but I have no place to store them. These things are something like 27 cubic feet.

I installed a firewire card in Adept to see what editing digital video is like (firewire required to connect to the dv camera). It's very futuristic-looking. Watching a video that you filmed yourself play back on your monitor with booming stereo sound is kind of surreal. Part of the resulting production is above. (I made a higher-fi copy of it, too. Bottom of page.)

It's oh, midnight, and I'm trying to do four things at once. My cellphone was shut off (thanks, AT&T!) and I've got $40 left in my bank account. Payday, please? Payday! Hey!

Elektron ESI sent me upgrade chips for my Sidstation (featured prominently on "Everything", below), but to install them I needed to find "torx" screwdrivers. I have no "torx" screwdrivers. I tried normal screwdrivers. Odd, they don't fit. I tried normal screwdrivers + pliers. Nope. Too tough to turn. So I went to the store and tried to find one. The only way I could get one that fit is by buying an entire toolkit, with 50 bits and bendy parts and a screwdriver that lights up. Oh well. It was only 10 bucks, and I needed a screwdriver that lights up anyway (doesn't everyone?).
