MAKE MONEY FAST

10:53 : 35

I might qualify for unemployment insurance. I am waiting on my ex-employer to represent themselves to the state. They will no doubt portray themselves as having given me every chance, warning me again and again until there was finally no recourse but to fire me. All I wrote was the truth (that is, that they didn't warn me about any thoughts of termination, ever.). I found out that if my application goes through, I will be getting more than Brett will be making at Real. It's enough to pay the rent. A little bit wary of getting money when I'm not working, though. I definately would prefer employment, pronto. (praying: I will get a job as NMS programmer at InterNAP)

Besides the unemployment thing, I also found out that "Karawynn" actually lives in Seattle, about 200m from my house. I guess I could go stalk, but I get the feeling she spends all her time talking on the phone and practicing her puppy dog eyes. The last time I checked her site was about half a year ago; I guess I don't get around the 'fabulous and special guys/gals' home websites' as much since I left the influence of Diary-L. Capitol Hill is a prety web designer-y place, now that I think about it. Maybe I should go back to doing web page design professionally. Naaaaaah. I'm too wrapped up in assembly to spend a lot of time catching up on something that will seem terribly single dimensional (a language devoted to data presentation via compatible user agents, which aren't always similiar). Brett makes fun of me for studying assembly language. His view is that I should only be learning things pertinent to my current project, which would be almost completely handled by the DirectX API. Bah. Someone's got to write the next API/Library/Device driver/Operating System, and it's gonna be someone that knows assembly language backwards, forwards, and quad pipelined.

Trivia department: XCHG AX,AX generates the same machine code as NOP: the single byte 90h (1001 0000) - Tom Swan, Mastering Assembly Language 2nd Rev.

I'm not sure how Karawynn came up in conversation today. I think I mentioned someone telling a story about... uh... something, and it turned out that it had been her. Oh Yeah! The "Working at Microsoft Encarta" story. Whew. Well, that solves that mystery. Back to turbo assembler.
