  Black black

Hung out with Ben Black today. He seems like a pretty nice guy, and he got funnier as the night wore on. Ben Black is a smart networks guy. I kept thinking "Ben Brown" in my head, and had to say "Ben Black!" out loud a few times before meeting up with him to make sure I would get it right. Of course, when you talk to someone, you rarely call them by their first AND last names, so I didn't really get to put this training into practice.

My nose seems to have run dry. This makes it easier to read and prepare waffles, since the nose doesn't require constant kleenexing to prevent interfering with the environs. When cooking, especially, one must constantly interrupt what one is doing to kleenex, and then wash and dry hands. Then hurry to finish as many tasks as possible before this routine is required again.

Not much occurring out there. Earth seems stable. Populace seems unriotous. Everything is normal and just sitting there, as far as I can tell. Maybe next week will be more exciting, with multiple meteor strikes, volcanos erupting in Seattle Center, floods around Pike Place market, and giant lizards.. coming out of the ocean. Wait, those are all movie commercials. Tonight I went to see "Snatch", the rudely titled film by the director of "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" (and husband of Madonna). What am I doing, going out and seeing movies and hanging out with network architects? Obviously, Ed is in town. Right now he is in the living room watching "Only the Strong", which is one of those movies which one feels embarassed to be near. It contains capoeira, but that's about all that can be said in its favor. It also contains an endless supply of one dimensional characters (which, being one dimensional, occupy zero volume and area). The goody-goody teacher is so relentlessly goody that he makes the characters in "Saved by the Bell" seem complex in comparison.

At this point a headache brings a sudden end to tonight's activities.
