I bused to Portland for a visit over the weekend. It was like traveling back through time. I saw the Tri-Met buses with the brown stripes (bizarre!), the pointy and useless convention center towers, and that ever present big square light rail thing. The, uh, something. MAX, that's right. The MAX.
I met with a great many people I met while employed at GST including Nate, Derek, and Mikey. I was staying at Kevin's house while there. He has bought a gigantic house. Unfortunately, it's right next to a heavily used train track, which means that the occupants (of the house) are subjected to sounds similiar to an industrial strength air conditioner on full blast at regular intervals.
I'm back now, with phone numbers to call, but I woke up too late to call them today. That's what I get, I guess, for drinking half a case of Coke brand cola over the last three days. I'll get them done tomorrow. I want to go hang out with my Seattle friends right now, but I'm not sure why. We'll probably wind up sitting around reading The Stranger or something, maybe watching TV for some reason. It won't be very entertaining and I'll find myself thinking about going home and reading the rest of the security book. (I read section III on the bus rides from Seattle to Portland and back.) Then I'll be back at home feeling bored and alone, with nothing new to do.
If this looks bad, you're viewing it with a browser that doesn't support CSS. If it looks even worse than that, you're using a browser that does. CSS seems to get more into the original intent of HTML. Good for documentation, good for people who want to view things a certain way, every time. You could take someone else's document tagged with CSS and easily change it to please your own eye, without searching through the whole entire thing. I don't know CSS thoroughly enough, so I used it today.
Time to go out and see what's going on. I'll answer email when I get home.
Dang. I didn't manage to make it out. Now it's early in the morning, and I'm still playing with CSS, Layers, and JavaScript. I'm trying to re-synchronize my sleep cycles. I'm also trying to figure out what all the aforementioned buzzwords are good for. All I can think of is stuff like this.
