Today was Javina's birthday, so I got her a cake, took her to dinner, and other stuff. When I went to the cake store to pick up my cake, the cakeworker said "You're Andrew? You're lucky - we were about to toss your cake out!" as she turned to go get it from the cake vault. "Gee, how lucky can I get," I mused aloud to her back.
"Andrew... Ross?" "No. Andrew Denyes." "Andrew Dennis?" "D...yeah." "Oh, then we weren't about to throw it out." So I finallly got the (THAT'S RIGHT I CAN USE THE WORD CAKE A FEW MORE TIMES) cake, and ditched the cake store. Outside, a dirt-caked bum asked if I had any change. I made a command decision not to respond. He then began following me EXTREMELY closely, and when his foot hit my heel, I turned, furious at his presumption, ready to paste him one in the cake hole. "sorrysorry, I didn't mean it," he said. Realizing that I was being unreasonably aggressive, I took my cake home without interacting with any more humans.
It has been a really good weekend, though. I'm happy, which doesn't translate well to text. :) (: :) (: ew
I love having a laptop. I loaded Visual Studio on it, now I can go hide in a restaurant or on a long bus ride and still be developing. The only drawback is a lack of connectivity. I had been seriouly considering a Ricochet radio modem, but the coverage is so limited, it's hard to justify the equipment fee. If they had coverage in Hawaii, I'd buy one. If they had coverage in Vancouver, I'd buy TWO, and price would stop being a concern. As it is, ricochet radio transceivers are very short range and must be installed in a checkerboard pattern throughout the city to be covered. Oh well.
I ate at "Flying Fish" for dinner, one of the best fish-serving places in Seattle, I think. They are now winning the Calamari-war. I have taken on the burden of my Dad's quest for the yummiest fried calamari on earth.
