SLOWLY TWISTING
  Twistiiiiiing!
6:59 am
--- So, hmm, I wonder what the first device in my room to be turned on was after I walked in the door a few minutes ago. The heater? The microwave? Muh hah. So, I'm sitting here checking my email (oh yeah, the heater. No wonder it's so cold.) paging through 9 million messages, playing with my new theraputic koosh ball (Christmas was good to me). So far I have only invented one game to play with the koosh ball, a game called "throw up". Contrary to what the name might have you think, it doesn't involve any sort of peristaltic gymnastics. The only rule is "throw, catch". It's more relaxing than one might think at first.

This is good because I have lots to think about. The Registry called while I was in Hawaii. Do I want to attempt to call them back today, in what might be an incoherent stupor (Sometimes I can't tell until later)? Should I wait even longer? Nurgh.

I didn't actually manage to call Jay while I was in Hawaii. Dang. Well, it was christmas and I only had 10 days. I DID manage to somehow run into Michelle (the ex) at Ala Moana Shopping Center. She was dressed in all black, working at the bookstore. Her eyes were like two brown circles with big black dots in the center. She got her degree already, and is waiting for a phone call from Proctor and Gamble or something. I didn't do much else interesting, but it's Hawaii, there isn't much interesting TO do. Oh sure, the beach and snorkeling is interesting. The first 9 or 10 thousand times.

--- While looking through the stuff in my room, I found the school journal I had been keeping in 1987:

    9/16/86 -
    Dear Journal,
Today Kris just got back from Vancouver in Canada at the expo '86. He has brought a lot of stuff back.

All of the entries seem to start with the word "Today". I also noticed that my cursive handwriting hasn't improved much in 11 years. Sensibly, I stick to print lettering. Another historical record I found was a little sketch pad of cartoons that my little brother had drawn when he was in 4th grade (1988 or so). Written in the corner of one page: "Christmas dance time at school. Another day of misery."

I've got things to do! Things! Webpages to look at! Email to write! Sleep to have! Sickness to get rid of! Job to get! Word to your mother! Hard to find! H to O! Linux to to to nine! Kick! Punch! It's all in the mind!

uhhm, anyway. Sleep to get first. That will make everything else easier.

8:40 am
Is it okay to be secretly pleased at someone elses suffering? Okay, sleep for REAL this time.
