7: Pyramidi

    Loud!

I just came back from watching Kris perform in his capacity as a temporary bass player with local heavy metal band Saqqara. They're good guys (though I didn't learn their names), good at being in a heavy metal band. They're fiercely heavy metal (I think they're named after an Egyptian pyramid, which is very metal, conceptually.) but have elements of arena rock, a kind of Bon Jovi/Guns 'n' Roses anthem feel in some of their songs. The exact right type of show to have at the Central.

As usual, Kris is red when on stage.

For the record, we (mr. yuck, rather) have been told that we will not be booked again there without a drummer. Period. My immediate reaction to this is, "we should find a more appropriate venue". Meaning, an electronic-music type show a la Doll Factory. On the other hand, I've always been capable of being part of a rock show. I just anticipate a great deal of hardship attempting to find a drummer. Still, if we're gonna play rock venues, it does sort of necessitate a rock-type show. Kris definately wants to play that type of show. Me, I'm not so sure I care about playing in front of chicks in leather pants.

Either way, I'm just gonna keep on making whatever stupid music I think up. Whether I'll have the energy to make a commercial product out of it is not clear right now. I'll be thrilled if I can put together a collection of 10 songs I think are finished. Maybe I could make that a new year's resolution.

Thoughts are pretty fuzzy tonight. Disjointed. Here's a building I like.

Duhhhhh, dahhhhh, DAHHHHH...... DUNT DUHHHH!!.

Yeah, it's the Columbia Tower. When it got foggy tonight, you could only see the lights of the top floor shining down out of the haze, like a mothership hovering above the bizarre inhabitants of this city. I got a picture of that, too, but it just looks like blurry white dots. Someday digital cameras will have the same range of sensitivity as a human eye. Not December 7th, 2002, though!

Aright I won't make fun of Ogden's spelling anymore.
