Early this morning, someone on #goatrodeo (rachel, I'm thinking) posted a link to an innocuous little flash game. It pretty much ruined productivity for everyone on the channel for a couple hours while everyone plowed through the puzzles,
uniformly getting bogged down on levels 11 and 18. What game was it? A german GAME WITH LASERS. It's like laser chess, but no chess. Just puzzles. The two sentiments I take away from it are
a) which one of us is going to port it to Palm OS? and b) Is laser chess still around? It's compelling in a nerd way. Who will finish first in your group? What, exactly, is the practical application for the skills involved? It has a little in common with Lemmings or Chu Chu Rocket.
Or the game Brett's making on GBA. Directing a somewhat independant entity towards a goal.
Can we treat life this way? Arranging situations so that they direct us where we want to go? If we can't make ourselves do something, we can make something make us do stuff. No, not despotic robot overlords. Things like alarm clocks and appointments.
