Blah blah music day. Blah blah pancakes. Blah blah garbage can.

Pancakes from scratch again, not quite so thick this time. Last batch I tried, the cakes themselves resembled english muffins, or perhaps hockey pucks (on the ones I forgot were in the pan). This time, although I lost some quality to burning (note: hard to read and cook simultaneously) they came out much more pancake-like. Verdict: use more milk.

Ha, I know from experience that pancakes are not supposed to be lavender

I read more JSP book today. I kind of blew through the chapter on error messages, because I had already gone through the error message exercises and correctly diagnosed them without knowing what was in the chapter. Basically, it was a primer on the fact that what language parsers say is wrong is sometimes only a side effect of what is really wrong, which anyone who has ever used C is already familiar with. Half the chapters down. Most of the rest are style and design theory, so they might take longer than these first parts, which dealt with syntax and programming methods. Syntax is easy, programming methods are portable between languages. I am anticipating the types of designs this technology encourages with tingling eyeballs. Or wait, I just need to take out my contacts. And go to freaking sleep.

With Kris, I mostly put down instrument versions of vocal melodies to make arranging things easier. It was funny, like muzak versions of our songs. Before Kris came over I had a short idea involving two different filter styles and some clanking, clicky percussion, which I mp3d for posterity.

Music inspired by a change of keyboards. I was typing really badly, so I switched in my Model-M. It's the size of a triceratops and typing on it sounds like gargling with rubber cement, but for some reason I make far fewer errors when I'm typing on it. I didn't really use that windows application key for anything, anyhow.

Somehow, the mix sounds better when we're not looking at the track chart.-- Kris "Legopher" Darr
