Woops, I totally did not get to sleep. I thought I was going to in the afternoon, got woken up by a phone call, and spent the rest of the day awake. Body is not amused and is aching and malfunctioning, and I don't blame it. I could've really used that sleep.

The up side of this is that I get to go to sleep at a pretty normal time tonight, perhaps throwing my entire schedule into array! Changing phase the hard way. Death of internet cliches predicted, film at 11.

In other news (meaning, in whatever thing I happen to be thinking of at this exact moment), brrr. As Nelly would say, "It's getting cold in herre" (so put your damn clothes on). Maybe I'm losing the ability to maintain body tempurature! If I don't get some sunshine on me soon, I'll fall into a torpor.

Isn't it irritating when people ask you the same question again and again? Yes it is, but it's unreasonable to expect everyone to know that people all ask you the same question. Oh sure, they could INFER it, but who cares about your stupid problems? And it's nearly impossible to break knee-jerk responses anyway - I don't know if I ever told you about the time my outgoing answering machine message tried to convince people not to greet the answering machine at the beginning of their message (i.e. say "Hello, I'm calling for Andrew, my name is .."), but it was completely futile. Everyone still said "hello" at the beginning of their message (except for Kris, who always says "Hey man", unless he leaves some bizarre fictional message), even though I specifically said that you don't have to, and that you can just go right to your message.

Breaking knee-jerk responses. Yeah, it's not easy. I'm working on one even now, and I'm just about ready to try it out in the real world. For the record, I think "knee-jerk" is a confounding and awkward idiom. I guess you could just say "reflexive response". "Spinal response," maybe? In the future, perhaps we will call people "liberal autoresponders".

Yesterday's worst spam subject line: "Look - You need Extreme Colon Cleanser".
